C/S Quality Assurance Administrator

About the Role

Join the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) of Delaware in a temporary onsite position to contribute towards enhancing the well-being of Delaware citizens. The Quality Assurance Administrator will spearhead statewide monitoring of electronic and paper charts within the Birth to Three Regional Programs, ensuring staff strictly follow state and federal guidelines. This role is fundamental to identifying quality issues and aiding supervisors in formulating corrective action plans while overseeing quality assurance initiatives, policy compliance, and providing staff training and technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee quality assurance programs including infection control, risk management, and utilization management within the facility.
• Ensure all activities comply with program policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Coordinate remediation efforts related to quality assurance concerns and analyze incident report data concerning accidents or injuries.
• Maintain a master schedule for all Quality Assurance activities across the facility.
• Conduct data collection and analysis through audits and interviews to monitor service quality and appropriateness.
• Develop data collection methodologies, prepare detailed reports, and recommend appropriate actions based on findings.
• Investigate non-compliance incidents, including allegations of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment, and carry out special studies as required.
• Propose operational and administrative policy or procedure updates to ensure service utilization and minimize liability.
• Lead and coordinate the internal quality assurance committee and represent quality assurance interests in other relevant facility committees.
• Develop and deliver educational sessions and technical support for facility personnel regarding quality assurance practices.
• Serve as liaison with external agencies and reviewers related to quality assurance activities.
• Possibly supervise professional, technical, and support staff engaged in the quality assurance program.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Behavioral Science, Social Science, Health Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of experience in quality improvement involving evaluation of service quality, problem identification, and recommending corrective actions to meet objectives and ensure compliance.
• Minimum of three years ensuring adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards in health care environments.
• At least six months experience in policy or procedure development.
• Knowledge of inferential statistical methods including correlation, t-tests, f-tests, or analysis of variance.
• Understanding of descriptive statistics such as mean, median, mode, and standard deviation.

Preferred Qualification

Training or knowledge in early childhood intervention or education is desirable but not mandatory.

Additional Information

This is a casual/seasonal role without pension eligibility or healthcare benefits.
