직무 설명
Overview
This role focuses on executing risk and credit operations related to assigned basic transactions while strictly adhering to established frameworks and processes to maintain high-quality portfolio standards. The position works closely with Sales, Operations, and Risk colleagues within Aditya Birla Financial Service Group to ensure effective risk management practices.
Organizational Context
Aditya Birla Housing Finance Limited (ABHFL) operates as a housing finance company registered under the National Housing Bank Act, 1987, providing comprehensive solutions like home loans, home improvement loans, top-up loans, and loans against property. Since its license acquisition in July 2014, ABHFL is pursuing rapid growth.
Role Context and Challenges
The Risk team acts as a counterpart to the Sales team, responsible for underwriting and implementing controls to safeguard business health and ensure compliance with risk management standards. This role also supports business development by jointly evaluating product and market expansion opportunities.
The Credit Manager is pivotal in performing risk and credit assessments, ensuring robust creditworthiness analysis and risk mitigation. Interaction with borrowers to physically inspect properties under consideration requires knowledge of legal and valuation frameworks.
The housing finance sector involves additional construction-related risks due to under-construction projects. The Risk team must account for this in risk control mechanisms while balancing growth objectives without increasing sub-prime exposure. Navigating varied state regulations and business practices is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out underwriting and portfolio quality management adhering to defined ABHFL frameworks and principles.
- Engage proactively with senior team members for insights on technical, legal, and state-specific risk assessment nuances.
- Coordinate with ABFL Risk colleagues for clarifications related to legal and technical evaluations.
- Ensure process efficiency by collaborating closely with Credit Processing Analysts and coordinating smoothly with Sales and Operations teams to enable sound decision-making and resolve issues.
- Uphold risk compliance and controls by following Maker-Checker procedures, preparing management reports, and managing exception approvals, collateral valuations, PDD completions, and cheque bounce collections.
- Support collection processes by coordinating with Collections and Operations teams to monitor delinquency cases and assist recovery efforts by escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Continuously develop skills in legal, technical, and property business practices to enhance risk assessment capabilities and maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- CA or MBA in Finance
- Experience ranging from 0 to 3 years in banking, NBFC, or housing finance companies
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability, interpersonal skills, and presentation capabilities.
