Position Overview

Correctional Officers play a vital role in maintaining order and security within correctional institutions. Their duties encompass supervision, care, custody, and control of inmates, including the use of physical restraint when necessary, to ensure a safe environment.

Employment Locations

Positions are available at Florida Women's Reception Center, Marion Correctional Institution, and Lowell Correctional Institution.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old, reflecting the hazardous nature of the job; no upper age limit applies.
• United States citizenship is mandatory.
• Possession of a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
• A valid driver's license is necessary to fulfill required travel.
• The employer will conduct drug screening, fingerprinting, and a thorough background check including scrutiny for felony convictions, misdemeanors involving perjury or false statements, and domestic violence misdemeanors.
• Additional criteria may be imposed by the employer.
