Position Overview

The Corporate Development Analyst, reporting to the Manager of Corporate Development, will support strategic initiatives through financial analysis and project coordination. This full-time role is based in Vancouver, BC with a hybrid work model, working closely across departments and with external partners to advance business growth, mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and other key corporate projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and reconcile monthly and quarterly capital expenditure reports for the Board.
  • Assess financial viability of capital investments and strategic projects using business cases and return metrics such as IRR and NPV.
  • Develop and update financial forecasts, models, and conduct detailed analysis of financial statements to evaluate operational health.
  • Maintain and analyze public comparables and conduct industry research on trends, competitors, and risks.
  • Contribute to the preparation of investor presentations and strategic materials for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project goals.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders to collect data, align strategies, and maintain documentation.
  • Participate in meetings, negotiations, and carry out additional tasks as assigned.
  • Support research, financial modeling, and due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and partnership opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or Private Equity with solid experience in three-statement financial modeling.
  • Progress toward or possession of CPA, CFA, or CBV designations is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, especially related to capital expenditures, return analysis, and forecasting.
  • Proven analytical skills with experience constructing comprehensive financial models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to clearly present findings and collaborate effectively.
  • Detail-focused, resourceful, and proactive problem solver with eagerness to learn new concepts.
  • Basic understanding of corporate development processes, including M&A, valuation, and due diligence, is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for modeling and presentation preparation.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual remuneration between 65000 and 75000 CAD, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
