Position Overview

Join our team as a Cook at Great Beginnings Aveley, where you will prepare wholesome, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 112 children daily. This full-time permanent position involves working 30 hours weekly, focused on delivering high-quality food that supports children's mental and physical growth.

About the Role

You will be responsible for planning menus, budgeting, ordering and controlling stock, and ensuring all meals meet allergy and dietary safety standards. Maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment compliant with Food Safety regulations is vital. The center operates from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, and the facility is conveniently accessible near public transport and local amenities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with experience in a cooking role.
• Current Working with Children’s Check.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate completed or willingness to obtain.
• Proven ability in menu planning, budgeting, stock control, and allergy-safe meal preparation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate as part of a team.
• Availability to work set shifts Monday through Friday.
