About the Role
Starting September, we are looking for a Cook (m/f/d) to join our production kitchen on a 35-40 hours per week basis. Our company specializes in providing high-quality, 100% organic meals for childcare facilities, schools, cafeterias, bistros, and other catering partners across Kiel. We prepare exclusively vegan and vegetarian dishes fresh daily according to the Cook and Hold method, catering up to 2,500 servings per day. Our fresh ingredients are sourced regionally, supporting local farms.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing all preparatory and finishing kitchen tasks
- Preparing and presenting vegan and vegetarian meals for community catering and lunch services, including large batch cooking
- Ensuring compliance with quality and hygiene standards according to HACCP
- Managing proper food preparation and storage
- Handling receipt and ordering of supplies
- Independently managing assigned kitchen stations
Qualifications and Skills
- Completed culinary training as a cook
- Enjoy working with healthy food products
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility
- Reliability, resilience, and strong communication skills
- Team-oriented approach
- Keen taste and smell senses
- Knowledge of allergens and HACCP regulations
- Mathematical skills for quantity calculations considering cooking and trimming losses
- Experience operating large kitchen equipment such as combi steamers, tilt kettles, and up to 150-liter cooking pots
- Preferably prior experience in large-scale communal catering and production cooking
