Overview
The Contracts Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing strategic sourcing for goods and services across the organization while ensuring compliance with established procurement policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and finalize contract documents in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee post-award activities including contract completion, variations, warranties, and claim management.
- Implement category-specific procurement strategies by establishing various agreement types such as Call-Off, Blanket Purchase Agreements, and Open Purchase Orders in accordance with corporate policies.
- Assist in the preparation of tendering documents for procuring selected services.
- Regularly update contract terms and conditions as well as purchase orders to reflect current requirements.
- Provide active support to standardization and service evaluation committees to align procurement objectives.
- Engage in procurement activities for high-value or high-risk projects as assigned.
- Review technical and commercial evaluation reports prior to approval according to the authority matrix.
- Drive improvements in procurement processes and performance, including policy and procedural enhancements.
- Research and ensure contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with clients to confirm contract terms are met consistently.
- Adhere strictly to the organization's Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.
- Evaluate contractor performance to determine if contract amendments are necessary.
- Manage supplier performance to optimize outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Relevant certification or formal training in procurement or supply chain management.
- Extensive procurement experience spanning over 10 years within a large organizational environment.
- Proficient in operating within sophisticated computerized ERP systems.
