About the Role
Two Project Manager positions are open with a leading civil engineering firm in Ireland specializing in infrastructure and utilities projects. This role supports critical water infrastructure enhancements across Ireland, focusing on locations within and around Wexford. Candidates should reside in this region due to multiple upcoming projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans and requirements to develop a detailed baseline schedule using Microsoft Project.
- Monitor the project schedule regularly and communicate updates to the client.
- Detect critical path delays promptly, illustrate these within the project timeline, and negotiate extensions with the client if needed.
- Review project pricing and monitor internal costs to ensure alignment with the budget and pricing.
- Identify causes of financial losses in the project, devise mitigation strategies, and relay commercial concerns and solutions to the Contracts Manager.
- Understand contract scope and pricing, identify project variations, and negotiate additional costs when appropriate.
- Examine contract documentation and ensure timely communication of required notices to the client.
- Manage the Site Agent, Project Engineer, and Quantity Surveyor as a line manager and oversee all site personnel through the Site Agent.
- Approve monthly progress claims and review risk assessments and other pre-construction health and safety documents.
- Conduct periodic health and safety as well as quality audits on site.
- Recognize design-related challenges and communicate issues and proposed solutions to the client.
Candidate Requirements
- Completed Level 8 qualification.
- At least five years of relevant experience working in Ireland.
- Minimum two years’ experience collaborating with ESB (Electricity Supply Board).
- Proven record on utilities projects within Ireland is essential.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project software.
- Possession of a full driving license.
- Preferably civil engineering background.
- Must hold a PICW (Project Supervisor Construction Works) qualification.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range between €90,000 and €100,000 depending on experience.
