Job Overview
Lead and oversee all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction activities on site to guarantee that projects are completed safely, efficiently, within schedule, and according to design specifications and quality standards. The focus is strictly on construction execution and leadership at the site level, including supervision of installations, coordination of manpower and resources, site progress management, quality checks, and effective communication with consultants and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily MEP construction operations at the site.
- Ensure installation tasks adhere strictly to approved drawings, technical specifications, and method statements.
- Organize and allocate manpower, tools, and materials efficiently for each task.
- Track daily construction progress to confirm compliance with project timelines.
- Collaborate with Civil, Structural, and Architectural teams to address and resolve site-related challenges.
- Maintain communication with consultants, clients, and main contractors for inspections, approvals, and progress meetings.
- Relay construction requirements and site constraints to engineering and planning departments.
- Execute progress tracking on a weekly and monthly basis based on the approved project schedule.
- Identify any delays or obstacles during construction and recommend corrective measures.
- Compile regular site progress reports for submission to the Project Manager.
- Uphold quality standards and company procedures throughout all MEP installation phases.
- Conduct frequent site inspections to detect any deviations or non-conformances.
- Enforce compliance with approved materials, method statements, and Inspection/Test Plans (ITPs).
- Implement and monitor strict safety standards, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.
- Engage in site safety audits and conduct toolbox talks.
- Promptly initiate corrective actions in response to hazardous practices or conditions.
- Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, and materials on site.
- Identify any shortages or constraints regarding resources and escalate issues appropriately.
- Validate daily productivity levels and recommend improvements.
- Provide technical advice and support to on-site teams and supervisors.
- Resolve technical conflicts, installation clashes, and construction-related issues.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Department for shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and technical inquiries.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by direct management related to construction activities.
Educational Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 9 years of professional experience in managing MEP projects within the construction sector, including a minimum of 3 years in supervisory roles.
- Comprehensive technical understanding of MEP systems, construction methodologies, and installation best practices.
- Experience working with shop drawings, coordination drawings, method statements, and ITPs.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, sound on-site decision-making skills, and effective communication.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
