Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry tasks including erecting scaffolding, ladders, and stairs; assembling structures and framework; constructing formwork and installing wood blocking.
• Operate mechanical equipment such as saws, hammers, and drills.
• Build, repair, and install various woodwork components like counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, trims, as well as door frames, doors, and door hardware.
• Assist in layout tasks for formwork and partitions.
• Comply fully with company policies, safety protocols, and applicable building codes.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications accurately to fulfill project requirements.
• Support equipment operators by signaling and guiding loads safely during lifting and moving operations.
• Assist in moving machinery, materials, and in construction activities such as pouring concrete walls, floors, and footings.
• Maintain cleanliness by removing debris and trash from the site.

Candidate Qualifications

• Preferred educational background is a high school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of relevant experience, training, or education in construction or related fields.
• Mathematical proficiency including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of measurement units.
• Ability to perform complex cuts with precision to minimize material waste and understand formwork systems.
• Adherence to all safety training and regulations without continuous supervision.
• Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints, safety regulations, maintenance guides, and procedural documents.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with customers and team members, including routine writing tasks.

Physical Requirements

This role demands regular bending, sitting, standing, walking over uneven terrain, hand manipulation of tools and controls, repetitive reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee must frequently speak and listen and regularly lift and transport materials. Visual acuity including close vision and focusing ability is essential. These requirements are general and may be modified as necessary.

Working Conditions

Employees must wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Awareness of moving mechanical parts is critical, and tasks often occur at heights. Exposure to wet/humid environments, airborne particles, fumes, and loud noise levels is common. Overtime, including weekends and holidays, may be necessary depending on project demands.
