Role Overview and Expectations

We are seeking an experienced Compositing Artist to join our dynamic team in Berlin. This position involves working in an agile startup context, requiring a keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing top-tier visual effects (VFX). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with supervisory leads to ensure creative and technical excellence on assigned projects. This is a full-time, on-site role based in our Berlin office.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Compositing Supervisor and VFX Supervisor to assess and determine the best creative and technical strategies for assigned shots.
• Execute comprehensive compositing tasks including 2D tracking, matte creation, element layering, and color grading on shots ranging from moderately complex to highly challenging.
• Maintain consistent visual quality, color harmony, and overall aesthetic coherence across assigned shots and sequences.
• Lead and mentor junior artists, fostering a productive and creative work environment.
• Contribute to international projects based in Europe and the USA, adapting to diverse production requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum three years of professional experience specializing in compositing, especially using Nuke software.
• Strong proficiency in rotoscoping, tracking, matchmoving, keying, and merging techniques to effectively generate mattes.
• Deep understanding of VFX production pipelines and workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to work diligently and independently while proactively managing tasks.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Passion for delivering exceptional VFX outputs with meticulous attention to detail.
• Leadership abilities to guide and support junior team members.
