About the Role
The Communications Manager in YouTube Ads will play a key role in shaping and sharing narratives about Google and YouTube’s advertising tools that empower businesses and creators globally. Working within Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA), the role demands managing multiple projects under tight deadlines, pitching stories effectively to journalists and influencers, and collaborating cross-functionally with teams across PR, marketing, and product.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to develop compelling brand narratives for YouTube ads.
- Create tailored media strategies and positions for YouTube advertising products to engage diverse audiences.
- Build and maintain valued relationships with trade media, opinion leaders, and industry influencers.
- Draft a broad array of communication content including blog posts, talking points, Q&As, and social media messages.
- Prepare and coach leadership for major press and media engagements to ensure impactful messaging.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
- At least 7 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or internal/executive communications related to technology products or services.
- Keen understanding of digital advertising and streaming industry, with established media contacts.
- Exceptional skill in balancing multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced dynamic setting.
- Strong ability to translate complex product launches into accessible stories for business and trade press.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.

Applicants may select their preferred workplace among Mountain View, CA; San Francisco, CA; or New York, NY. The role is currently onsite in New York, NY. For this position, the annual base salary ranges from $141,000 to $205,000 USD, with a 15% target bonus, equity options, and benefits offered.
