About the Role
Pegasus Leisure Group is seeking a skilled and energetic Casual Commis Chef to become part of the dynamic team at the Peninsula Club in Dromana, Victoria. This role promises a lively work environment where quality food and camaraderie are priorities amidst the busy kitchen atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes to meet established quality standards.
- Support senior kitchen staff with food preparation, plating, and service during peak periods.
- Strictly maintain food safety and hygiene protocols at all times.
- Manage your designated station during service and efficiently handle orders on the pass.
- Ensure your work area is clean, well-organized, and ready for busy service times.
Candidate Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant food safety certifications, including Food Allergens and Do Food Safely Certificate.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced pub, bistro, or high-volume kitchen setting.
- A strong grasp of fundamental cooking techniques and recipe execution.
- Availability to work a rotating schedule encompassing nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Physical and Work Environment
This position involves active work, including standing for extended periods, handling inventory such as boxes and kegs, and moving through multiple levels of the venue via stairs.
