As a member of the Commercial Banking team in Wellington, you will engage directly with clients and contribute to the economic vitality of the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of established commercial clients by understanding their specific business needs and providing tailored banking solutions.
• Analyse the financial health of businesses, preparing comprehensive credit submissions based on financial statements, forecasts, and business strategies to support lending decisions.
• Assist in ongoing management activities such as portfolio reviews, monitoring client accounts, and addressing a variety of banking requirements.
• Participate in risk management efforts, focusing on both credit and operational risks to ensure responsible support for clients’ objectives.
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with business customers, gaining exposure to multiple industries and lending scenarios.

Requirements

• Background in accounting, finance, or commercial analysis, with proficiency in interpreting and evaluating financial data and business performance.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to derive actionable insights from business information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating financial concepts into practical recommendations.
• A customer-oriented approach and curiosity to develop further in a banking environment; previous commercial banking experience not essential.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, finance, or related disciplines are valued, though not strictly required.
