About the Role
Pedare Christian College is dedicated to fostering an educational environment that empowers students to excel and make meaningful contributions to their communities. We are inviting applications for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Health Centre on a part-time permanent basis, working 22.5 hours weekly across 40 weeks annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory healthcare standards within the school setting.
- Provide first aid services, including initial triage and student health assessments.
- Deliver general healthcare support tailored to student needs across Reception to Year 12.
- Administer medications as supplied by parents or guardians according to appropriate guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teaching staff, support personnel, and leadership regarding student health concerns.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records for students with conditions such as anaphylaxis, asthma, epilepsy, and other chronic illnesses.
- Coordinate with staff on first aid provisions during school camps, excursions, and sporting events.
- Offer administrative assistance as necessary to support health centre operations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to uphold and promote the college’s core values.
Candidate Requirements
- Current registration and qualification as a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in South Australia.
- Certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and trained to manage diabetes, anaphylaxis, and asthma emergencies.
- Recent professional experience in paediatric and adolescent healthcare is mandatory.
- Proficiency in sports first aid and wound management.
- Demonstrated expertise in diabetes care across multiple age groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to function well within a small team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills including time management and accurate record keeping.
- Adaptability to a dynamic work environment and an eagerness to embrace change.
- Advanced computer literacy including familiarity with Google Suite applications.
- Availability for additional hours on short notice is considered an advantage.

This part-time role operates for 40 weeks each year, totaling 22.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will demonstrate a professional demeanor, compassionate approach to student care, and a strict adherence to confidentiality.
