Role Overview
The Clinical Secretary position offers vital administrative and secretarial support to a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities include managing information systems comprehensively and coordinating the clinical referral process to ensure effective departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver full secretarial and administrative assistance, utilizing skills such as audio and copy typing, photocopying, word processing, and effective use of management information systems and email communications.
- Gather, compile, and maintain data related to patient records, performance monitoring, and staff governance, producing all associated statistics and reports.
- Oversee and update the department’s waiting lists and referral processes to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and telephone communications, prioritizing and distributing them appropriately while ensuring timely and relevant responses are initiated when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Qualification such as RSA3, SVQ3, NC in Secretarial Studies, or an equivalent credential.
- Competent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational abilities with a capacity to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
