About the Role
Temple University's School of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Data Analyst to support the data needs of the Health System Implementation Initiative (HSII) and the Center for Biostatistics and Epidemiology. This grant-funded role is focused on analyzing healthcare data to identify outcomes, monitor trends, and assist frontline providers in optimizing care delivery. The analyst will maintain data infrastructure for real-time access and develop dashboards using Microsoft Power BI for effective data visualization. They will collaborate closely with statisticians and other team members to enhance data-driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract data from Electronic Medical Records (EPIC) and collect raw data from internal and external sources.
- Work with team members to ensure accurate data collection, storage, and standardization across datasets.
- Clean, correct, and validate data to maintain integrity and accuracy.
- Perform fundamental statistical analyses to detect data trends and patterns.
- Create visual dashboards and reports in Power BI and Excel, adapting these based on stakeholder feedback.
- Support interpretation of data reports for non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with departments like marketing, finance, and operations on Temple Health projects.
- Maintain and secure databases to promote accessibility and best practice data storage.
- Conduct data quality assurance checks and resolve discrepancies collaboratively.
- Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Attend team meetings to share analytical findings and support project goals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum one year experience in healthcare data management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel).
- Strong analytical abilities with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suited for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Organizational skills with capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
