About the Role and Area

The Global Institutional Business (GIB) unit within Corporate & Investment Banking manages relationships with institutional clients through various products including Global Markets, Global Transactional Banking, and Investment Banking and Finance. GIB is structured into five sectors: Banks, Wealth and Asset Managers, Insurance, Public Sector, and Financial Sponsors.

The unit recently revamped its strategic approach, ASP3N, aiming to balance income generation from corporate and institutional clients by 2029 via a comprehensive front-to-back business transformation. The new institutional business revolves around two pillars: product development (covering trading, IT, operations, risks, etc.) and a commercial coverage model designed to increase specialization, enhance client engagement, and optimize commercial processes.

To support this vision, a new role in Client Strategy & Profitability is introduced to reinforce onboarding capabilities and improve client lifecycle management. This position focuses on managing onboarding coordination, client communication, and stakeholder liaison to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for institutional clients.

  • Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, Operations, and KYC departments to resolve queries and pending onboarding items promptly.
  • Monitor onboarding pipelines vigilantly, identify delays proactively, and escalate issues as needed to meet timelines.
  • Ensure all onboarding requests comply fully with internal procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain exceptional client service standards to facilitate a seamless onboarding journey for institutional clients.
  • Contribute to process enhancement initiatives aiming to improve efficiency and shorten onboarding turnaround times.

  • Proven experience in client onboarding, lifecycle management, KYC coordination, account opening, or relevant roles in Corporate & Investment Banking or Financial Institutions.
  • Comfort collaborating closely with bankers and institutional clients in a dynamic environment.
  • In-depth understanding of onboarding workflows and coordination across banking, compliance, operations, and KYC teams.
  • Familiarity with Financial Institution client lifecycle management, especially in the Corporate & Investment Banking domain, is advantageous.
  • Capacity to juggle multiple onboarding processes concurrently with a strong focus on detail.
  • Awareness of regulatory onboarding requirements such as KYC, AML, sanctions, MiFID, EMIR is beneficial though not requiring deep technical compliance expertise.
  • Excellent organizational skills, stakeholder management abilities, and coordination capabilities.
  • Knowledge of institutional client types and investment banking settings is considered a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suites and onboarding/workflow management software.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Spanish is an added advantage.
