Position Overview
Join our team located in inner-city Sydney as a full-time permanent Cleansing Crew Member working day shifts. This role offers multiple vacancies and pays an annual salary of $64,546 plus superannuation.
About the Role
Be part of a dedicated team working to maintain the cleanliness and vibrancy of Sydney’s roads, footpaths, plazas, and public spaces. You will engage in varied cleansing tasks involving manual sweeping, pressure cleaning, waste removal, and operation of specialized machinery such as small mechanical sweepers and refuse removal trucks. Comprehensive training will be provided to develop skills across these duties, enabling a visible impact on the city’s environment. This role suits individuals who enjoy practical work, handling modern equipment, and contributing behind the scenes to keep the city welcoming.
Candidate Requirements
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual tasks.
- Experience with manual street cleaning, handling of bulk waste including illegal dumping, and servicing street litter bins.
- Willingness to drive and learn operation of various plant equipment like small mechanical sweepers and waste collection vehicles.
- Possession of a current C class driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Availability to work weekdays, some weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and other assigned duties.
- Previous experience in waste removal is preferred.
- Motivation to enhance skills, including obtaining MR/HR truck licenses for career advancement and training.

- Roster flexibility includes a 9-day fortnight, providing a rostered day off every two weeks.
