Role Overview

The Cleaning Technician I will focus on sanitation duties across material storage, manufacturing, and as needed, housekeeping zones. The technician ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), working closely under the Cleaning Lead Hand's supervision and occasionally assisting with work orders or special cleaning tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Executing cleaning tasks within clean rooms, labs, and material storage areas according to schedules or requirements.
  • Utilizing approved cleaning substances and equipment.
  • Accurately completing all related documentation adhering to SOPs, departmental policies, and GMP standards.
  • Supporting cleaning efforts in production spaces as needed.
  • Participating in preventive and predictive maintenance programs within designated timeframes when assigned.
  • Monitoring and reporting cleaning supplies inventory to ensure replenishment.
  • Identifying any deficiencies or deviations and communicating them immediately.
  • Handling work orders and special housekeeping requests efficiently.
  • Complying with all safety and company procedures, reporting any incidents or policy breaches to the Cleaning Lead Hand.
  • Communicating workload status and challenges promptly to ensure task completion and goal achievement.
  • Assisting in organizing special company events or meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience in industrial/commercial cleaning or operations within a biopharma or pharmaceutical GMP environment.
  • Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of clean room and building operations.
  • Familiarity with operation of cleaning equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
