Job Overview
The Civil QA/QC Engineer plays a critical role in verifying that all civil construction activities are executed in line with approved designs, specifications, contracts, quality norms, and relevant codes. This position involves conducting inspections, managing quality documentation, coordinating material testing, and upholding adherence to the Quality Management System throughout the project lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed inspections to ensure work aligns with approved drawings, method statements, and specifications.
- Inspect incoming construction materials, verifying approvals, test certificates, and specification compliance.
- Coordinate laboratory tests for materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, concrete, bricks, and sand.
- Identify and reject materials that do not meet quality standards and document deviations.
- Collaborate closely with site engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and clients to ensure quality consistency.
- Participate actively in quality meetings and site inspections.
- Implement corrective and preventive measures to address quality issues.
- Ensure adherence to approved work procedures at all times.
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), overseeing corrective actions to resolution.
- Analyze root causes of repeated quality problems and propose improvements to processes and practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in projects involving building construction, infrastructure, highways, industrial, or commercial developments.
- Preferred background includes residential and commercial buildings, high-rise construction, and infrastructure projects.
Compensation
Monthly salary ranges from 30000 to 35000 INR.
Additional Information
Location for this role is Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The engineer will report directly to the QA/QC Manager or Project Manager within the Quality Assurance & Quality Control department.
