Civil CAD Designer - Mining

About the Role

JDS Energy & Mining is searching for a proficient Civil CAD Designer / Draftsperson to contribute to mining and civil infrastructure projects. This full-time position is based in Vancouver, BC or operates under a site-based rotation model. The role involves generating detailed and precise drawings and models to assist mining and heavy civil infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive 2D drawings and 3D models related to civil and mining infrastructure
• Design site grading, earthworks, roads, drainage, and mine support layouts
• Develop technical plans including profiles, cross sections, and construction details
• Work collaboratively with engineering, surveying, and project teams to ensure deliverable quality
• Update drawings reflecting engineering revisions, field conditions, and client inputs
• Ensure adherence to drafting standards, drawing control, and document management
• Coordinate across structural, mechanical, and electrical teams for cohesive project delivery
• Assist construction teams with as-built documentation and on-site revisions as necessary
• Engage in design reviews and quality assurance procedures
