Cinema Manager

Role Overview

The Cinema Manager leads the operations of a cinema as a Revenue Centre Head, focusing on delivering excellent customer satisfaction and achieving revenue objectives through efficient management aligned with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and strong people management techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage financial performance metrics of the cinema including sales per hour (SPH), average ticket price (ATP), and strike rate.
• Monitor and guide daily cinema operations by rigorously enforcing SOPs and analyzing business environment to reach monthly revenue targets across box office, concessions, and loyalty programs, while enhancing customer satisfaction scores.
• Initiate and oversee Local Area Marketing efforts to boost cinema attendance and position PVR as the premier entertainment venue.
• Implement sales initiatives to improve overall cinema performance.
• Control costs of goods sold (COGS) to ensure profitability.
• Address and resolve all customer complaints promptly within set timelines.
• Maintain strict adherence to cinema SOPs and achieve high marks in quality audits.
• Ensure superior customer service delivery, consistently meeting benchmark ratings in mystery shopper evaluations.
• Organize and execute on-the-job and operational training programs for Duty Managers, Duty Officers, and front-line staff in coordination with the training team to improve operational effectiveness.
• Manage employee retention by engaging with team members to keep morale and motivation high.
• Provide training on various local and corporate initiatives to staff.
• Facilitate the execution of marketing campaigns at the cinema as directed by corporate strategies.
• Ensure timely and accurate performance reporting for real-time tracking and management intervention.
• Secure support from all relevant departments to maintain asset conditions and system availability through escalations and active collaboration.
• Handle statutory compliance and maintain liaison with local government bodies, police, and developers to ensure smooth cinema operations.
• Foster strong collaboration among cross-functional team members by building shared understanding of cinema goals and their roles in achieving them.

Additional Job Requirements

• P&L management experience is essential.
• Comprehensive understanding of all cinema functional teams and their influence on cinema profitability.
• Working knowledge of projection equipment and related software.
• Ability to meet and exceed expectations from patrons, management, and regulatory bodies, while balancing business targets.
• Skill in uniting multifunctional teams to work collaboratively towards cinema objectives.
• Accountability to Area and Regional Managers for performance delivery.
• Effective engagement with external customers to guarantee quality service.
