Role overview

The Doncaster and Bassetlaw Children’s Therapy Service is seeking a driven Band 6 Physiotherapist to join its team. This position offers the chance to deliver specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for children and young people across Doncaster and Bassetlaw, working in inpatient, outpatient and community environments.

The postholder will manage a musculoskeletal outpatient caseload and a community caseload focused on neurodevelopmental needs. When required, the service also supports orthopaedic and respiratory inpatients.

This is an opportunity to work within an established, supportive therapy team, with structured supervision and training, access to ongoing professional development, and the possibility of contributing to research.

Key duties

The successful candidate will act as a specialist practitioner in children’s physiotherapy and provide expert clinical input to deliver high-quality therapeutic care.

• Run an independent caseload and provide thorough assessment, treatment, management and advice tailored to patient needs.
• Deliver specialist clinical expertise to support safe, effective and high-standard care within the service area.
• Work in partnership with colleagues across health, social care, local authority services and other agencies to support patient outcomes.
• Use team resources efficiently and responsibly.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the physiotherapy and wider therapy service.
• Embed clinical governance principles into day-to-day service delivery.
• Represent the therapy team and help shape the wider Clinical Therapies service.
• Take part in the Physiotherapy Cardio-Respiratory On-Call Service or an agreed alternative 7-day service.
