Role overview
This position is based at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, part of Minor Hotels’ luxury Anantara brand. Anantara is built on Thai-inspired hospitality and aims to create memorable stays in distinctive destinations across the world. The resort sits in Ras Al Khaimah, a quieter northern emirate of the UAE known for beaches, desert landscapes, mountains, and outdoor adventure, while still being about 45 minutes from Dubai.
What the role involves
- Lead the concierge team, bell desk operations, bell attendants, doormen, valet parking support, and airport transport coordination.
- Provide guests with accurate guidance on hotel facilities, nearby attractions, restaurants, medical services, sightseeing options, and other useful local information.
- Promote the hotel’s own food and beverage venues first, and be fully informed about each outlet’s cuisine, hours, and related details.
- Keep the lobby area presentable, organised, and consistently in good order.
- Build work and leave rosters for concierge, doorman, and bell services teams while factoring in occupancy, forecasts, and large group arrivals or departures.
- Make sure concierge, bell, doorman, and valet staff remain tidy, well-groomed, punctual, and effective in carrying out assigned tasks.
- Resolve guest issues and coordinate with department heads or senior management when the Director of Operations is unavailable.
- Maintain current, guest-oriented departmental standards and procedures, and reinforce them through day-to-day coaching and training.
- Identify training gaps for team members and design or roll out programs to address them.
- Carry out probation reviews and formal performance appraisals, while also coaching, counselling, and disciplining staff as needed to improve performance.
- Ensure guest questions and requests for assistance are handled with exceptional courtesy, speed, and professionalism that reflects the hotel brand.
Requirements
- Demonstrated strength in concierge and front office operations.
- At least 2 years of experience in a management-level role within a luxury hotel.
- Good working knowledge of computers and property management systems.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills; additional local or foreign languages are an advantage.
- Excellent guest-relations and service skills.
- Les Clefs d’Or certification is mandatory.
- Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and public holidays.
