Chemistry Expert

Role overview

We are seeking a Chemistry Expert to contribute subject-matter knowledge for training next-generation AI systems. In this remote contractor role, you will help improve how models learn, reason, and respond by supplying accurate, real-world chemistry insight. Prior experience working in AI is not necessary; strong expertise in chemistry is the key requirement.

Key responsibilities

• Review and make sense of complex chemistry documents, datasets, and research publications.
• Create, evaluate, and improve high-quality question-and-answer content that tests and broadens AI comprehension.
• Use analytical methods to identify and pull out the most important findings from source materials.
• Work with cross-functional teammates to keep the content scientifically precise and easy to understand.
• Support documentation efforts and contribute ideas that improve the workflow over time.
• Share expert feedback on model responses and overall system quality.
• Maintain the correctness, relevance, and scientific integrity of all chemistry-related inputs and outputs.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or above in Chemistry or a closely related subject is required.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in academia, a laboratory, or an industry environment.
• Strong capability to read, understand, and interpret technical documents and research studies.
• Very good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Hands-on experience with data extraction, calculations, and analytical reasoning.
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight while consistently producing strong results.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on scientific accuracy.

Preferred background

• An advanced degree such as an MS or PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience developing educational content or assessment material is a plus.
• Exposure to work across disciplines, including areas such as physics or biology, is beneficial.
