Category & Shopper Insight Manager

About the Role

This full-time position, located at Unilever's Corporate Headquarters in Toronto, focuses on leveraging shopper and category insights to uncover growth opportunities, foster stronger retailer partnerships, and support data-driven decision-making aimed at category expansion across Canada. The manager will play a pivotal role in delivering actionable recommendations, influencing various stakeholders, and steering business outcomes through strategic category management.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with retail clients.
• Design and implement Category Growth Plans to stimulate business expansion.
• Utilize analytics and shopper insights to identify new growth paths.
• Develop persuasive data-backed selling narratives and proposals.
• Lead initiatives related to category management and best practices adoption.
• Contribute to Joint Business Planning and the annual business planning cycles.
• Assess innovation prospects and recommend product listings accordingly.
• Collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to propel category growth and achieve business targets.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in Category Management, Shopper Insights, Account or Brand Management, or similar fields.
• Prior experience engaging with retailers or within FMCG/manufacturing sectors.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Familiarity with market research tools like NielsenIQ, MarketTrack, Homescan, LDIA or equivalents.
• Strong capability in data analysis, reporting, effective communication, and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Understanding of shelf space management and planogram development methodologies.
• A university degree in Business, Marketing, or an allied discipline.
• Possession of a valid Ontario driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of artificial intelligence tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms.

Additional Information

• The role operates on a hybrid basis, requiring a minimum of three days per week on-site at the Toronto Corporate Headquarters.
• Travel commitments within Toronto stores are less than 10% of working time.
• No relocation assistance is provided for this position.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is CAD 84,900 to CAD 127,300 annually. Compensation decisions consider a variety of factors including skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, and organizational needs. The role qualifies for a performance bonus.
