Cashier

Job Purpose

This role is focused on creating a strong customer experience by greeting guests, taking orders, processing payments through the POS system, and preparing beverages and food items to the company’s quality standards. The position also requires keeping the work area clean, orderly, and safe while following company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers courteously and represent the brand in a professional manner.
• Take customer orders and enter them accurately into the point-of-sale system.
• Accept cash, card, and electronic payments, then issue receipts.
• Handle cash carefully and complete daily cash reconciliation in line with company procedures.
• Prepare hot and cold beverages according to standard recipes and quality guidelines.
• Deliver orders quickly while preserving product quality and presentation.
• Recommend add-on products and use suggestive selling to support revenue growth.
• Keep the cashier area, coffee station, equipment, and surrounding workspace clean and organized.
• Run, clean, and carry out routine upkeep of coffee machines and related equipment, and report any faults to the Branch Manager.
• Track inventory levels and inform the Branch Manager about shortages in ingredients or supplies.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety requirements at all times.
• Respond to customer questions and complaints in a professional way, escalating complex matters to the Branch Manager when needed.
• Take part in stock counts and inventory checks when requested.
• Comply with company rules, procedures, dress code, and scheduled working hours.
• Complete other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor that fall within the scope of the role.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Training or certification in customer service or coffee preparation is preferred.

Experience

• Preference will be given to candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience in cafés, restaurants, or hospitality.
• Fresh graduates are also welcome if they are eager to learn and develop.
