Role Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming and professional atmosphere by greeting visitors, handling phone calls, managing appointment scheduling through multiple channels, and coordinating logistics.
• Conduct patient intake and check-in procedures, ensuring accurate completion of forms, insurance verification, copay collection, and record documentation.
• Oversee scheduling for both patients and clinicians managing adjustments, follow-up appointments, discharge processes, reactivations, and end-of-day duties while ensuring precise electronic health record (EHR) updates.
• Assist clinical staff by triaging patient concerns, escalating issues when needed, and coordinating required services.
• Communicate efficiently with patients, their families, referral sources, and vendors to facilitate smooth patient transitions and engagement.
• Maintain accurate documentation for billing and charge capture and ensure timely submission of all necessary data.
• Adhere to all compliance policies and regulatory requirements including HIPAA, CMS, and OSHA, while delivering superior customer service.
• Represent SOL Mental Health professionally and contribute positively to team culture by demonstrating empathy, cooperation, and dependability.
• Meet defined productivity targets and undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• Capability to handle challenging situations effectively and de-escalate conflicts.
• Proven proficiency in interacting professionally with a diverse range of individuals.
• Exceptional organizational abilities with capacity to manage multiple simultaneous tasks.
• Competency in Microsoft Office suite and willingness to learn clinical operational software.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems, especially Athena, is preferred.
• Able to understand, interpret, and apply guidelines and operational procedures.
• Strong integrity, enthusiasm, humility, work ethic, and a positive outlook.

Physical Demands

• Extended periods of desk work and computer use.
• Effective verbal communication through phone, computer, and face-to-face interactions.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 15 pounds occasionally.
• This position is a full-time, on-site role based in Rockville, Maryland.

Compensation

The role offers an estimated hourly wage between $24 and $25 depending on experience, along with eligibility for monthly performance-based bonuses.
