About the Role
Smithfield Capital Partners offers an internship opportunity in the field of capital markets, focused on investment banking activities. This part-time, remote position immerses interns in live financial mandates from day one, providing hands-on experience rather than observational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Create investor presentations, teasers, and confidential information memoranda (CIMs) that meet the high standards expected by institutional investors.
- Support origination efforts including sourcing new mandates, screening potential opportunities, assembling target lists of investors and clients, and assisting senior team members with initial outreach.
- Develop and analyze financial models by constructing and stress-testing operating scenarios and return analyses for presentation to investors.
- Engage directly with clients and investors through calls and meetings, progressively taking on individual coverage responsibilities as competency grows.
- Participate throughout the entire fundraising cycle encompassing origination, preparation of materials, investor outreach, meetings, and closing deals.
Compensation Details
This internship operates on a commission basis with no fixed base salary. Earnings are derived from a share of fees on mandates you contribute to originating and executing. There is no cap on commissions. Candidates seeking a guaranteed salary should consider other opportunities. This position rewards real deal involvement, client exposure, and performance-driven financial upside.
Candidate Profile
- Individuals currently studying or recently graduated in finance, economics, or related disciplines.
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel with attention to detail.
- Comfortable and confident in client and investor communications both verbally and in writing.
- Interest in Gulf capital markets is considered a valuable asset.
- Ability to work remotely with flexible hours accommodating academic commitments.
