Cafeteria Worker at Kossuth Elementary School

Position Overview

Working under the close guidance of the Child Nutrition Director and the building Principal, this role supports maintaining a safe and orderly environment within the school cafeteria at Kossuth Elementary School.

Primary Duties

• Provide supervision to students during meal times in the cafeteria.
• Ensure cleanliness of tables and adjacent areas post meals.
• Oversee students’ activities on the playground or in classrooms during lunch breaks.
• Assist students with efficient food purchasing, distribution, waste disposal, and returning trays and utensils.
• Make sure students stay seated in designated areas throughout their cafeteria time.
• Move around tables while meals are underway to offer assistance as necessary.
• Help in arranging student groups for organized dismissal from the cafeteria.
• Support supervision of students in libraries and accompany them to and from school buses.
• Communicate any concerns such as behavioral issues, safety hazards, injuries, or other significant incidents to teachers, principals, nursing staff, or security personnel accordingly.
