Key responsibilities

• Raise enquiries for the items allocated to you based on business needs.
• Compare user-defined technical needs with the specifications submitted by vendors, and flag any gaps to the Senior Buyer or Buying Manager.
• Handle the initial round of discussions and negotiation with vendors, then share the outcome with the Buying Manager for deal closure.
• Place orders for approved items and record the transactions correctly in SAP.
• Respond to and resolve internal and external audit queries linked to procurement, escalating complex cases to the Senior Buyer or Buying Manager when required.

Education and experience

A B.Tech or B.E. degree is required. The role calls for 2 to 6 years of experience with exposure to sourcing in the relevant category and manufacturing. Preferred background includes category-based purchasing and supply management in a comparable plant operations setting.
