Position Summary
The Business Analyst role is integral to supporting and enhancing Hammes' business systems, data reporting frameworks, automation efforts, and pioneering AI projects. Responsibilities include Salesforce administration, business intelligence development, data analysis and architecture, and streamlining processes. This position requires collaboration across leadership, IT, users, and vendors to elevate data quality, expand reporting capabilities, improve system adoption, and identify technology-driven efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and improve business platforms such as Salesforce, reporting tools, and automation applications.
- Manage Salesforce activities including user roles, permissions, report/dashboard creation, data maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and system setup.
- Develop and sustain business intelligence assets—reports, dashboards, and datasets—that provide leadership and operational insights.
- Conduct data-related activities such as extraction, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, transformation, and organization.
- Contribute to data initiatives including building data models, managing data flows, working on data warehouses/lakes, documenting reporting standards, and establishing data source policies.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, identify process challenges, and seek system or workflow enhancements.
- Support technology and process improvements through requirements gathering, process documentation, testing, deployment, training, and user support.
- Research, test, document, and validate AI and automation use cases to decrease manual workload and enhance efficiency.
- Provide user support by responding to inquiries, preparing instructional materials, troubleshooting, and promoting system and AI adoption.
- Stay updated on relevant technologies including Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, generative AI, analytics, and automation tools.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, data engineering, business analytics, MIS, or a related discipline.
- Preference for candidates with at least one year of relevant experience; practical experience from internships, academic projects, certifications, or capstone projects also acceptable.
- Basic familiarity with business systems, data analytics, databases, reporting platforms, software development fundamentals, and workflow automation.
- Experience or exposure to data analysis and modeling, business intelligence, data visualization, data engineering, or machine learning concepts.
- Hands-on or academic knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, Salesforce, Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, and AI platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot.
- Strong desire and ability to learn new tools including data architecture, automation, AI-enabled workflows, and reporting systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills aimed at understanding business needs and offering actionable recommendations, often with guidance.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy, documentation quality, and continuous process improvements.
- Effective communicator and collaborator, capable of working professionally with diverse teams including business users, IT, leadership, and vendors.
- Ability to multitask, engage in critical inquiry, accept constructive feedback, and thrive in a dynamic team environment.
- Eagerness to explore new technologies, improve workflows, and apply data-driven decision-making.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
