Role Overview
WestJet is searching for a seasoned Business Analyst to join the Turn Management Platform Project team for a 12-month contract based in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Director of Operational Support & Programs, this position involves delivering tech-driven solutions that enhance operational excellence throughout the company. The role demands hands-on involvement in supporting complex projects integrating multiple systems and collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders from Operations, Technology, and Project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and project leaders to establish project objectives, scope, and functional requirements.
- Conduct analysis, document current workflows, and develop future-state process designs aligned with operational goals.
- Lead workshops and meetings to ensure business, technology, and project team alignment.
- Translate business needs and risks into clear documentation covering functional, technical, and procedural aspects.
- Assist project delivery through planning, progress monitoring, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
- Work closely with Agile teams to verify that solutions meet defined requirements and desired outcomes.
- Support system testing, implementation, enhancements, and related project activities for successful completion.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 5 years experience as a Business Analyst focused on technology implementations and business transformations.
- Proficient in gathering, documenting, and managing business and technical requirements.
- Strong skills in process mapping, including both current and future-state analysis.
- Exceptional facilitation and communication abilities for in-person and virtual stakeholder engagement.
- Experienced in juggling multiple priorities and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Creative problem-solver with strong critical thinking and accountability.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
- Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile project delivery frameworks and experience working in Agile environments.
- Keen interest in technology, integration of systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as IIBA (CBAP, CCBA, ECBA) or CAPM are a plus.
- Experience within airline, aviation, or transportation sectors is advantageous.
- Background in supporting enterprise platforms, operational systems, or data-centric transformation projects.
Working Conditions
This role requires onsite presence up to five days weekly, though this arrangement may shift according to business needs.
