Role Overview
This position is responsible for maintaining all biomedical equipment and devices at Dallah Hospital, guaranteeing safety for patients and staff along with dependable, precise functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure prompt repairs for all biomedical equipment following relevant protocols and procedures.
- Execute Planned Preventive Maintenance schedules on biomedical devices at designated intervals.
- Manage adequate spare parts inventory through regular reviews and coordinating with the stores and purchasing departments.
- Participate in evaluating needs, developing plans, and estimating costs for procurement or upgrading of biomedical equipment.
- Advise on new policies and procedures related to the Biomedical section.
- Oversee external biomedical service contracts by monitoring performance and approving completed work.
- Maintain medical gas systems and procure necessary supplies to ensure continuous availability across all clinical units.
- Collaborate with the biomedical supervisor to prepare the engineering services annual budget.
- Adhere strictly to departmental policies, local and international accreditation standards concerning biomedical engineering.
- Support the Medical Equipment Management Program through relevant processes organization-wide.
- Engage in developing indicators, collecting data, analyzing, and interpreting to assess departmental performance outcomes.
- Participate actively in hospital Safety and Risk Management programs; report incidents, contribute to reviews, and perform root cause analyses as necessary.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the department manager within the scope of expertise.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in biomedical engineering with recent 3 years in a healthcare institutional environment.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Biomedical Technology.
