About NHS Ayrshire and Arran

Role Overview
The position is for a Bank Porter based at University Hospital Crosshouse, involving flexible work availability across all seven days of the week, 24 hours daily. The job demands versatility in performing all portering duties and a focus on weekend and evening shifts.
Working Hours
The role functions on an as-needed basis with particular emphasis on weekends and evenings. From April 1, 2026, full-time NHS Agenda for Change employees in Scotland will experience a reduction in weekly hours from 37 to 36 hours (pro-rated for part-time), without pay loss.
Key Requirements
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence, essential for this role.
- Physical fitness is required as the job involves physical activities.
- Prior experience in a similar portering role is welcomed but not mandatory as comprehensive training is provided.
- Completion of Corporate Induction is compulsory for all new NHS Ayrshire and Arran staff.
