Role Overview

The Audio Visual Technician plays a critical role in delivering flawless technical audio-visual services across the resort’s diverse events and guest interactions. Collaborating with teams such as Engineering, Events, Banquets, Entertainment, and IT, this role demands expertise in operating and maintaining AV equipment to uphold SLS's standards of quality and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, operate, and dismantle AV equipment for meetings, conferences, weddings, banquets, entertainment events, and special functions.
• Manage sound, lighting, projection, and video systems during live events to ensure professional execution.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of AV hardware to maintain optimal function.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with microphones, speakers, mixers, projectors, LED screens, displays, and related equipment.
• Offer onsite technical support for VIP guests and high-profile meetings or events.
• Maintain updated expertise on AV devices, event specifications, and technical procedures.
• Liaise with various operational teams to meet all event technical needs effectively.
• Support AV systems in conference rooms, boardrooms, entertainment venues, digital signage, and guest rooms.
• Ensure proper storage and care of equipment following manufacturer and resort standards.
• Document inventory, maintenance, repairs, and service activities comprehensively.
• Assist in installing and commissioning new AV systems and technology.
• Coordinate with external AV providers to guarantee compliance with resort standards.
• Maintain a tidy and safe workspace adhering to health, safety, and operational protocols.
• Respond quickly to AV requests minimizing disruptions to operations and guest experiences.
• Present a professional demeanor, embodying SLS's commitment to excellence and guest service.
• Foster a collaborative and communicative team atmosphere with proactive engagement.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• At least 2 years of experience handling audio-visual operations in luxury hotels, resorts, or premium event settings.
• Technical proficiency with professional audio, video, lighting, and presentation systems.
• Hands-on experience with AV equipment setup, maintenance, and live event operation.
• Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills, including minor equipment repairs.
• Awareness of electrical safety and AV system installations.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with effective problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to maintain composure, professionalism, and guest-oriented service under pressure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
