Associate/Analyst - Corporate Strategy & Project Development

About the Role and Organization

The Horizon Group of Companies, including the Arctic Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), is seeking multiple Associates and Analysts to contribute to transformative infrastructure, maritime, industrial, and Arctic projects throughout Canada. Role Overview

As an Associate or Analyst, you will support project proposals, solution designs, and infrastructure offers in a small, dynamic team environment. You will be responsible for contributing research, analysis, drafting various project documents, and coordinating cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing commercial documentation, including presentations, spreadsheets, scoping memos, and funding applications.
• Draft technical summaries, detailed project descriptions, and partner engagement materials based on collective input.
• Help produce professional deliverables that integrate technical, financial, and community elements.
• Research infrastructure technologies, public policies, funding programs, and relevant project precedents.
• Analyze stakeholder requirements, community development plans, and regulatory frameworks to inform project design.
• Maintain internal databases comprising reference materials and records of past projects.
• Track project deliverables and support timeline management across multiple simultaneous workstreams.
• Coordinate collaboration among partners, consultants, and Indigenous stakeholders.
• Support administrative tasks such as document formatting, citation management, and version control.

Desired Qualifications

• Between 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure, strategy consulting, public policy, economic development, corporate finance, or related fields (1-2 years suitable for Analyst roles, 3-5 years for Associates).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly express complex ideas in straightforward language.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a startup-like, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a readiness to ask insightful questions and deliver reliable results.
• Familiarity with presentation design tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Canva), data visualization techniques, and financial analysis is highly advantageous.
