Associate Engineering Director - MEP (M4)

About the Role

Mace is a global consultancy and construction firm dedicated to unlocking potential through innovation and expert project delivery. We are currently engaged in a significant luxury hospitality and entertainment project in Riyadh, partnering with esteemed architects and global consultants. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team managing large-scale infrastructure and built assets with a hands-on approach to construction management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design to commissioning and handover phases of major infrastructure MEP systems, including power, district cooling, water, and other utilities.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of MEP works, ensuring adherence to programme timelines, health, safety, and quality standards through commissioning and project closure.
• Provide both technical and commercial leadership during tendering, procurement, and execution of contracts.
• Direct design reviews to guarantee compliance, coordination, and alignment with established engineering standards.
• Develop and implement project planning and delivery strategies focusing on sequencing, logistics, and commissioning methodologies such as IST, ATP, and Soft Landings.
• Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels including clients, consultants, contractors, and senior leadership up to the C-suite.
• Lead and cultivate high-performing multidisciplinary MEP teams, driving key performance indicators and positive workplace behaviours.
• Collaborate proactively toward the net zero carbon goal, actively managing carbon emissions and reduction strategies during project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
• At least 15 years of experience delivering complex, large-scale MEP and infrastructure projects.
• Comprehensive technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, public health, and integrated building systems including BMS, SCADA, and fire life safety systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency in design management, commissioning procedures, and overseeing full project lifecycles.
• Advanced skills in programme planning, critical path analysis, and sequencing.
• Complies with visa requirements for Saudi Arabia and has relevant experience managing high-value projects in a project management consultancy setting, aligned with immigration and client criteria.
