Assistant Manager – Warehouse Operations

Job Overview

The Assistant Manager for Warehouse Operations will lead daily warehouse management within a third-party logistics (3PL) environment focused on chemical storage. This full-time, permanent position based in Dubai involves overseeing smooth, safe, and timely warehouse activities while fostering operational excellence and compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient processes and effective management of warehouse staff.
• Track and report performance metrics related to warehouse productivity and operational efficiency to both internal teams and customers.
• Handle the safe receipt, storage, and shipment of chemical products, adhering strictly to safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Promote a safety-first culture by enforcing HSE practices across all warehouse functions.
• Ensure order accuracy, maintain inventory records, and oversee batch and shipment documentation.
• Maintain detailed operational records and generate reports to support various departments including finance and management.
• Guarantee compliance with regulations concerning hazardous materials, chemical segregation, and storage classifications, as well as company policies.
• Manage the upkeep and readiness of warehouse equipment, including daily inspections of material handling equipment (MHE).
• Foster smooth interactions and coordination with customers, logistics providers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Plan workforce deployment to meet operational demands and customer requirements effectively.
• Lead initiatives aimed at continual improvement of warehouse performance, service quality, and operational standards.
• Ensure employee training, competency, and cross-skilling to enhance operational adaptability.
• Maintain communication and collaboration with customers, suppliers, and transport providers to optimize warehouse workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in 3PL warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operations, with at least 3 years in supervisory or managerial capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of warehouse management, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
• Proven leadership qualities, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Experience handling budgeting, cost management, and performance evaluation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict management capabilities.
• Highly organized with solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining stringent service and safety standards.

Compensation

A fixed monthly salary of 22000 AED will be provided for this permanent employment opportunity.
