Assistant Manager - Queensland

Role Overview

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our vibrant pub venue in Queensland. This role involves hands-on management to ensure the venue operates smoothly, maintains safety, and delivers an exceptional atmosphere for guests. The Assistant Manager will support the Publican in daily operations and lead a team of hospitality professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with regular patrons, becoming a familiar and trusted presence.
• Assist the Publican in managing the venue to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment.
• Guide and motivate a capable team, developing leadership skills towards becoming a Publican.
• Proactively address potential issues before they escalate.
• Consistently deliver high levels of energy, service quality, and positive guest interactions during shifts.

Physical Requirements

• This position requires physical activities such as manual handling and lifting (including stock, kegs, and deliveries). Candidates must be capable of performing these tasks safely and reliably.

Candidate Profile

• Experience working within bars, bistros, or gaming rooms, with some supervisory exposure.
• Learned from effective managers and ready to elevate to a leadership role.
• Confident, proud, and skilled at representing the pub when management is absent.
• Possession of a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG/RCG) certificates as mandated by state legislation.
