Role Overview
The Shift Engineer for the Cell Production Cluster - Wetline role is responsible for overseeing the production workflow and managing machine operators. Responsibilities include operator training, deployment, and creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and checklists for machine processes and production flow to ensure smooth and safe shop floor operations aligned with production plans. The role also requires controlling equipment and material movements within operational standards and adhering to SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
- Strictly enforce safety regulations during shifts by implementing safety protocols, conducting routine inspections, providing training, and promptly addressing issues to maintain a compliant workplace.
- Supervise and optimize production throughput to meet or surpass the set production targets and maximize operational productivity.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, and Poka Yoke to enhance workplace safety, machine readiness, and adherence to daily check procedures as per SOPs.
- Lead Quality Control Circles (QCC) and drive cost reduction initiatives to improve operational efficiency and ensure product quality aligns with required specifications.
- Gather and analyze production data to identify trends and compile comprehensive Management Information System (MIS) reports for leadership review.
- Conduct training programs for operators to reinforce safe work practices and foster a culture of safety on the shop floor.
Collaborations and Stakeholder Interaction
- Coordinate with Cluster Managers, technicians, operators, and quality control inspectors within Cell Production to ensure seamless operations.
- Engage with external equipment suppliers and maintenance contractors to support operational needs.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech) is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of practical experience in semiconductor or solar manufacturing is required, particularly with expertise in wet chemical processing and equipment operations, or other related PCB manufacturing environments.
