Assistant Engineer

Role Overview

This part-time Assistant Engineer position is situated in Abu Dhabi and operates under a hybrid working arrangement, blending onsite duties at industrial and logistics sites with remote work opportunities. The primary function of this role is to assist senior engineers in overseeing facility operations, coordinating maintenance routines, and participating in inspections of building systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior engineering staff in monitoring day-to-day facility activities.
• Help coordinate maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion.
• Assist in conducting inspections of infrastructure and building systems.
• Gather and analyze technical data relevant to operations.
• Prepare basic reports and maintain proper documentation.
• Assist in coordination with vendors and contractors.
• Contribute to minor engineering projects such as repairs, upgrades, and operational enhancements.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional departments including operations and property management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Fundamental knowledge in engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, civil, or industrial, particularly related to warehousing and logistics.
• Competence in technical documentation, basic drafting, and familiarity with CAD or similar design tools.
• Proficient in data collection, analysis, and report generation, including strong skills with spreadsheets and standard office software.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to engage with contractors, vendors, and diverse internal teams.
• Understanding of safety, quality, and compliance standards relevant to industrial parks and logistics facilities.
• Relevant education such as a diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical fields.
• Prior experience through internships or entry-level engineering roles, ideally within warehouse or industrial settings.
• Additional desirable attributes include fluency in English, strong problem-solving capability, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously in a hybrid, part-time role.
