About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Category Manager to join our Merchandise team, focusing on elevating our apparel categories. Working closely with the Senior Category Manager, you will integrate commercial insights, customer perspectives, and a passion for products to craft category strategies that enhance sales, profitability, and deliver outstanding customer experiences. Collaboration with teams across product development, planning, marketing, digital, retail, and supply chain will be essential to ensure that apparel ranges are attractive, relevant, and customer-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate category performance by analyzing sales data, margins, key performance indicators, and customer feedback to uncover growth opportunities and aid in making informed category decisions.
  • Support category and assortment strategy via data-driven insights, collaborative planning, promotional assessments, and ongoing process improvement efforts.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to implement accurate and timely promotional activities and category initiatives, ensuring clear communication and resolving any arising issues.
  • Maintain rigorous governance by managing precise administration, campaign approvals, trade partner monitoring, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Enhance commercial and category knowledge by providing feedback, staying informed about industry trends, and promoting a culture centered on customer-focused improvements.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in category management, buying, or related commercial retail roles with a specific background in apparel category management is essential.
  • Solid grasp of category management concepts including range planning, product lifecycle oversight, and strategic commercial decision-making.
  • Strong competence in analyzing data to pinpoint opportunities and converting insights into actionable commercial results.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and effectively manage competing demands within a dynamic setting, with an emphasis on organization and detail orientation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the capacity to influence, collaborate and work effectively across diverse teams.
