Assistant Accountant

Position Overview

MechTech Solutions is seeking a committed and proficient Project Accountant to join our team remotely. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial integrity of diverse property management projects by ensuring accurate financial tracking and budget adherence. Key Duties

• Develop and maintain detailed forecasts, actuals, and variance analyses for project budgets.
• Supervise project spending to verify alignment with approved budgets.
• Review and authorize invoices, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and contractors.
• Generate monthly financial performance reports for diverse projects for management assessment.
• Support month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
• Collaborate closely with project managers to advise on cost control measures and financial planning.
• Ensure all financial operations comply with corporate policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Conduct project account reconciliations as needed.
• Organize and preserve all project financial documentation for auditing purposes.

Candidate Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in project accounting or a comparable finance function.
• A solid understanding of accounting concepts and procedures relevant to project management.
• Competency in accounting software alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
