Position Overview
We are seeking an Aquatics Team Lead to oversee the daily operations of our aquatic facility, ensuring safety, compliance, and exceptional service for all visitors. This is a fixed-term full-time position covering 12 months of parental leave. The Aquatics Team Lead is responsible for leading and supporting the aquatics team, fostering a positive culture, and maintaining lifeguarding standards through the International Lifeguard Training Program (ILTP). A visible, hands-on leadership approach in lifeguarding duties is essential to deliver excellent outcomes for the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and empower the aquatics team to excel in their roles.
- Manage daily aquatic facility operations with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Maintain adherence to lifeguarding standards as per ILTP guidelines.
- Provide active on-deck presence and participate in lifeguard duties.
- Drive a positive, customer-oriented atmosphere within the team.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Proven experience in aquatic operations, senior lifeguarding, duty management, or team leadership positions.
- Current Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Deep knowledge of aquatic safety protocols, supervision, and water quality management.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, lead, and develop staff effectively.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and continual improvement.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness and capacity to obtain and maintain them.
