Role Overview
Chandigarh University seeks a vibrant and confident Anchor to lead and manage various university functions including academic ceremonies, cultural events, conferences, seminars, and other official gatherings. The role demands excellent communication abilities, a strong stage presence, and the skill to captivate audiences while upholding the University's image and professionalism.
Key Duties
- Host diverse university events such as convocations, workshops, festivals, guest lectures, and official functions.
- Create and tailor event scripts, introductions, announcements, and stage cues collaboratively with event organizers.
- Maintain audience engagement with enthusiasm and confidence throughout events.
- Liaise effectively with event coordinators, technical staff, production teams, and protocol personnel to ensure flawless stage management.
- Direct event flow by introducing speakers, moderating panels, managing Q&A sessions, and delivering important announcements.
- Address unplanned occurrences on stage calmly to preserve program continuity.
- Exemplify proper pronunciation, timing, and event etiquette during all university-related functions.
- Represent the University at external engagements, media interactions, promotions, and institutional celebrations if required.
- Consistently uphold high standards of professionalism, appearance, and presentation.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Media Studies, Performing Arts, or closely related fields.
- Preference for candidates with Master’s degree qualifications.
- Additional advantage for candidates with formal training in anchoring, public speaking, theatre, or voice modulation.
- Professional experience ranging between 2 to 5 years in roles such as Anchor, Master of Ceremonies (MC), Event Host, Radio Jockey, Television Presenter, or Corporate Event Host.
- Exposure to large-scale institutional, educational, corporate, or public event hosting is highly desirable.
