Job description

Position Summary

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for supporting the Admissions department's operational tasks, including data processing, customer interactions via phone and email, event assistance, and front desk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Admissions Inquiry/Application phone line, providing excellent customer service to prospective students, parents, and educators from inquiry through application stages across CIA campuses.
  • Staff the reception desk, welcome and guide guests, assist students and staff, maintain the reception area's neatness, and handle printed materials.
  • Perform data entry tasks for inquiries, event registrations, applications, documents, and records maintenance from inquiry to applicant phases.
  • Ensure prompt processing of all applications and related documents, communicating specific prospective student needs to Admissions Counselors and Enrollment Managers effectively.
  • Oversee inventory and shipment of admissions and recruitment materials along with giveaways.
  • Support Admissions Counselors and yield teams with sales efforts by working admissions events, conducting outreach, and advising students and families through phone, email, social media, and in-person interactions.
  • Engage confidently with prospective students, families, and educators, clearly communicating CIA’s key messages.
  • Generate reports to maintain accuracy and operational integrity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate Degree or substantial relevant work experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in higher education student services, professional customer service, or high-volume data entry role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and previous experience in Higher Education Admissions or Financial Aid preferred.

  • Proficient with computers, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing are required.
  • Regular use of a computer is necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of recruitment materials.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, extended hours, and later shifts to meet business demands.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a hiring rate of $20.00 per hour.
