Account Manager

About the Role

Join Rent-A-Center as an Account Manager and embark on a career path with outstanding earning potential. Nearly all higher-level managers within the company have advanced from this position. This role involves managing rental accounts by providing excellent customer service, promoting new products, ensuring account performance, handling deliveries and pickups, maintaining store and vehicle conditions, and performing early-stage debt collections. The role supports business growth and customer satisfaction while upholding the company’s mission and core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a dedicated portfolio of rental accounts, fostering strong client relationships.
• Conduct collections for payments overdue between 1 to 6 days and meet set collection targets.
• Maintain account status and secure payment promises using account management systems.
• Perform assigned delivery routes, pickups, and account follow-ups.
• Provide premium customer service in-store, via phone, and during home visits.
• Drive sales by generating new rental contracts and supporting account growth.
• Safely transport, install, and handle rental merchandise.
• Keep showroom appearance and company vehicles in top condition.
• Follow all safety protocols and operational procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and customer service aptitudes.
• Physical capability to lift heavy items and operate a box truck.
• Ability to stand and drive for extended durations.

Schedule and Work Environment

• Full-time position working Monday through Saturday with Sundays and one weekday off.
• Physically demanding job involving lifting, bending, and standing throughout the day.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting hourly wage ranges from $13.01 to $15.30.
