About the Internship
This internship offers hands-on experience in building and managing a supply chain for a premium functional beverage startup focused on wellness and nutraceuticals. The intern will engage in multiple facets of procurement, supplier evaluation, vendor communication, and market research to support seamless sourcing and purchasing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify both domestic and international suppliers for ingredients, nutraceuticals, packaging, and related raw materials.
- Create and maintain a detailed database of suppliers while exploring alternative sources to mitigate procurement risks.
- Assess suppliers on parameters such as price, quality, lead times, production capabilities, and certifications including FSSAI, ISO, GMP, HACCP, Organic, Halal, and more.
- Conduct due diligence through online credibility checks, reference verification, and business reliability studies.
- Engage in supplier communications, requesting quotations, samples, technical data, and certification.
- Assist in negotiating costs, payment terms, order quantities, timelines, and commercial contracts.
- Support sourcing of ingredients and packaging, coordinate sample procurement, and assist in reviewing product specifications.
- Maintain organized procurement documentation, track orders, and support inventory and scheduling logistics.
- Analyze market trends, price fluctuations, and sourcing alternatives while identifying supply chain risks and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, operations, branding teams, and founders to aid timely product launches.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be available for full-time, in-office internship starting between 12th August and 16th September 2026, with a commitment of 3 months.
- Strong background or keen interest in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutraceuticals, Wellness, or related sectors is preferred.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Business, Commerce, Engineering, or allied fields.
- Excellent skills in research, analysis, organization, documentation, Excel, Google Sheets, and professional communication (verbal, written, and email).
- Ability to multitask independently with high attention to detail.
- Prior internship or exposure in procurement or supply chain functions, familiarity with marketplaces like IndiaMART, Alibaba, and knowledge of import/export logistics is advantageous.
- Attributes sought include curiosity, process orientation, negotiation skills, analytical mindset, resourcefulness, confidentiality, and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Monthly stipend ranging from INR 13,000 to INR 20,000.
